Hokkaido is characterized by its four distinct seasons and magnificent natural surroundings, particularly its dry, pleasant summers and wonderful white winters.
Shinhidaka also boasts beautiful landscapes that transform with the seasons. In spring, people gather here from across Japan to view the famous rows of cherry blossom trees. In summer and fall, the town is crowded with people enjoying nature and outdoor sports such as camping, golfing and horseback riding. In winter, approximately 150 swans around the mouth of the Shizunai River and other fantastic events attract tourists.
